Big Spring Computers strives to be a community center for not only your computer needs, but also for electronics in general. An open lab with plenty of resources including a library of technical knowhow is available to the public. There is also a media center with all the things you would expect for everything from large or small batch photocopies, to wrapping a package. Group and bind your documents by staple, three ring, or spiral. There are envelopes of different sizes and types.

PC Computer repair and refurbishment for desktops and laptops, both hardware and software. Diagnostics. Have a power supply that is acting up or some other system failure? Bring it in and I will diagnose the problem. It may be something that can be fixed. If not, I can find the replacement part for you. And that not just for computers. If it‘s electronic, there’s a chance I can tell you what is going on.

Custom computer builds! Have you ever wanted a real computer? One that will outlast the yearly trends? Stop buying the cookie-cutter computers from Wal-Mart or Best Buy. They’re loaded down out of the box with all the bloatware added to enhance your experience into complete boredom. Invest your money in a computer that will amaze you. Have the operating system installed clean and without any of the third party overhead.

I carry Amateur Radio (HAM) , GMRS, Shortwave and weather band emergency radios. I have both mobile units for vehicles and hand held radios. Antennas, feed line, connectors, and such are also available. If you don’t have an emergency radio, please don’t get a digital one. Come by and see what I carry for those particular radios. Electronics Center. There is an Open Public Access Laboratory for electronics. If you are new to radio, or any other sort of electronic field, then you may need some help from time to time. I keep all sorts of leaning tools available and plenty of great things for sale including STEM kits and projects, Robotics, and general electronics discovery kits. I also have soldering irons and stations, meters, component parts, power supplies, prototyping breadboards, wire, solder and desoldering briad, and precision tools all for sale. There is a selection of microcontrollers such as Arduino and ESP32, battery packs, and ribbon cable.

Full featured MEDIA CENTER. The Media Center is open to the public for general use and features a large standing-height worktable loaded with hobby tools. If you use some of the consumable materials then I charge a reasonable rate for those materials. And, yes, you can bring your own materials as well. The Media Center has a large format cutter, a guillotine cutter, heavy duty stapler for thick handouts and a three hole punch for binders just to name a few of the things to work with. For mail and packaging, there are envelopes of common sizes and types, from cardboard and even the protective bubble kind. boxes, wrapping paper, tapes, markers, and all sorts of hobby gear are all in the Media Center. There’s a hot glue gun and two cutting mats with the appropriate tools. You have to sign a form to use sharp things though :)

3D Printers! Yes, it’s going to be more common to have one of these wonderful tools. There are so many things you can do with your own 3D printer. I have both filament and resin printers for sale. I also have upgrade options. But more importantly, I keep the consumables these printers use in stock. Come by and check out a beginner printer and see what you think.

Spytech and Gadgets. Look it’s simple really. Computer science and geek are cousins. I have bug detectors and transmitters as well. Need a nanny camera? I have both hidden cameras like wall plugs and key fobs to pens and clocks. Some transmit the images and some record. Some do both. I also have GPS trackers if you need to keep tabs on some personal property.

Every Day Carry [EDC]. Amateur Radio has its part in being prepared and with that a mindset of things we carry every day that help keep us ready. I have a selection of items you may want to keep in your pocket just in case. Come by to see what there is.

Computer peripherals. I have everything you need for your computer’s add on needs. There are switches, routers, speakers, keyboards, mice, and even component parts in stock like replacement power supplies. Need an actual physical hard drive or a fan cable power splitter? Need a SATA cable or perhaps an extra modular power cable? I have those as well. I also have things like thermal past if you are building your own machine, and I have a variety of screws, nuts and bolts commonly found in computers.
